FUNNY GUY If you‘ve met Chris Quigley, you‘ve met the funniest man in Hamilton. The 21â€"yearâ€"old Oakville resident earned the title at a recent Yuk Yuk‘s contest in the Steel City and went on to the national competition this week at the Yonge/Eglinton club in Toronto â€" The Search for Canada‘s Funniest New Comic â€" where he placed fourth. Making people laugh is something Quigley has always wanted to do. After he completed high school at T.A. Blakelock High School, he started performing at Yuk Yuk‘s Amateur Night where the audience voted him top comic for several consecutive weeks. After proving himself there, Yuk Yuk‘s slotted him in as opening comic on their professionâ€" al nights. As well, Quigley wound up on the recent Sick Kids Telethon on CFTO TV and at the Ozone nightclub in downtown Oakville. His humor, he says, comes from listening to and watching other people.
