One proposal he would like to see through is the consolidation of the region‘s four municipal fire disâ€" patch systems. While this will reap concrete economic benefits (less dispatchers, hardware etc.) the sharâ€" ing of information between departâ€" ments will likely lead to streamlinâ€" ing in other areas, said Brown. Taken one step further, he explains that the exercise illustrates the benefits of creating separate bodies â€" like the Hydro Commission and Oakville Harbors Development Authority â€" that could provide a viable alternative to regional govâ€" ernment. Brown is also looking forward to fleshing out the Focus Oakville iniâ€" tiative (designed to improve service by implementing the innovative ideas of Town staff and the public) and the continued planning of West Oak Trails. He will also maintain his commitment to police and do what he can as a local councillor to keep the town safe. Brown â€" who has been a resident of Oakville for 14 years, seven in Glen Abbey â€" first became involved with the Town as chair of the Transit Advisory Committee.
