There are already some rumors suggesting that their overâ€"priced wines will cost even more in the future. With this in mind, I have comâ€" piled my annual Christmas list of wines to reflect the quality rather than the price. Furthermore, I have selected a number of wines that are not wellâ€"known, which I have tasted and found of great value. I am sure that even the most discriminating palate will Reserve your space now, since space will be on a firstâ€"come firstâ€"served basis for details! EBERSPAECHER find them interesting and very good, especially if you don‘t tell how little you have paid for some of them in the first place. For my readers who like to patronize Canadian wines, and we all should, I have included one in each category, except dessert wines. I find our Ice Wines too costly, although they are also the best in the world. All wines except one in each category will cost less than $10, and one is as cheap as a little over $5. SPARKLING WINES Starting with the Sparkling wines, my first choice, the Californian Champagne from Korbel (#2 on the sugar code) for $12.95 â€" it is the most costly one, but an excellent alternative to the expensive ones from France. From Germany, I like to suggest the Club de Brut (2) from Deinhard for $9.85. From France, but not from Champagne, the Marquis de la Tour (2) for $8.35. Finally, a sweeter wine, Asti Spumanti Gancia (7) for $9.95. My Canadian selection is the Inniskillin 1‘ Allemand for $8.55. I am starting the white wines with the Montana Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (0) from New Zealand, unbeatable with shellfish at $9.95. One of the best German white wines is the Schloss Schoenborn Rhein Riesling (2), exquisite and beautifully balanced for $11.05. The Languedoc Region of France produces a good wine with the Chardonnay la Joli (1) â€" dry, fruity, and clean $8.75. de Riscal (0), fresh and fruity a good wine for $8.65. My (‘anadian selection is the Konzelmann Riesling (1), outâ€" standing at $8.95. RED WINE Let me start the red wines from Italy with a great blend from Banfi, the Colâ€"diâ€"Sasso Sangiovese Cabernet (0) â€" a big and soft red wine for $9.75. From Chile, we have the best buy as far as quality/price is conâ€" cerned, a wine that could sell easâ€" ily for much more than $8, with the Santa Carolina Cabernet Sauvignon (0). The chedpest drinkable wine on my list is the Rumanian Pinot Noir (1) from Rovinex. At $5.65, pour this wine without letting anybody see the price, and you may be surprised by the reaction. But back to Italy where they produce one of the greatest red wines, the Amarone. Exceptionally good with red meat and especially game is the Amarone Classico (0) from Negrar. Look for it under CSPC 44784 for $12.65. As a Canadian wine, I suggest the Pelee Island Pinot Noir (0) at $9.80. Now, if you‘re all confused and don‘t know what to buy, let me suggest to you an excellent dry Spanish rosé in the Marques de Caceres (0) â€" a wine for all occasions. No list would be complete without dessert wine, so I start off with the sweet German, Bereich Bingen Auslese (5) which sells for $9.15 a bottle and will end up my list with the heavenly, sweet and delicious Greek, Samos Muscat Doux (20) â€" at $5.20 for half a bottle. This one defies description and if you have a sweet tooth or like sweet liquors, you must try a botâ€" tle. vests, fackets etc. Christmas! g RA \ 3 Extended Hours: Wed Thu: 7 pm to 10 pm = Over 5000 top quality designer @.G jeans, dresses, shirts, . priced to clear this Fridays: 10 am to 9 pm Saturdays: 10 am to 6 pm Sundays: 11 am to 5 pm 1 3495 Laird Road, Unit #2 Mississauga, ON 7 7 J 1 1 ! i l ud
