The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday May 6, 2006 - 5 WOSS debaters score points at nationals White Oaks Secondary School students Adam Hetherington and Hailey Dolihan debated their way to the national high school finals in Halifax last month and achieved some top-notch results. Hetherington placed third in Canada in English debate, and Dolihan earned a ninth place finish in French debate. Each category featured eight rounds of debates, which included topics that investigated subject like whether torture is justified in the interests of national security. The White Oaks pair reached the nationals after being among the top speakers in their categories in the provincial finals held at White Oaks in early April. Hetherington placed second and Dolihan placed fourth. The top 10 speakers in each province were invited to nationals.
