Not only is the Charger built in Canada, it fits neatly into how Canadians approach the economy-versus-performance dichotomy. The Brampton -built Charger is Daimler Chrysler's latest spin off its wildly popular, full-size LX platform, which it shares with the Chrysler 300 sedan and Dodge Magnum wagon. It runs the spectrum from economical beauty in V6 livery to autobahn-storming beast in R/T and SRT8 trim levels, both with thundering Hemi V8 engines. While the more muscular versions appeal to the performance-minded set, the V6 models -- designated SE and SXT -- stand to become the biggest sellers of the line for their better fuel economy and overall greater affordability. And for those to whom such things matter, the SXT (with the larger of two available V6 engine options driving the rear wheels) can be dressed up to look much like the high-performing Hemi Chargers for not a lot more money over its $31,385 base list price.
