Logie said his sister Annie stumbled along the gravestone while bringing flowers to her husband's grave. "It was Just by accident that she found it," said Logie. He said the soldier whose family they are looking for is Private Adam Hastings. He was a part of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps and is believed to be the son of James and Catherine Hastings and husband of Mary Hastings. Logie, a Scotland native, who moved to Canada from England in March, 1977, said Private Hastings is placed at Wilgon Cemetery in Scotland, and on the gravestone is the date 09, 01, 1943. It is unclear if the exact date of Hastings death was Sept. 1, 1943, or Jan. 9. Logie said he finds his sister's discovery peculiar because he recalls there were no military camps in the area where Private Hastings is buried, but he wants all concerned to know that he and his sister are doing their best to look after the gravestone. "We just want people in Oakville to know that we are doing our best to look after it," said Logie. If anyone has information that would help Jim Logie and Annie Dale find relatives of Private Adam Hastings, letters can be sent to Jim Logie at Box 573, Iroquois, ON, K0E 1K0.
