After nearly 60 years, the annual parade won't be traveling up Kerr -- at least for this year -- because of safety and liability issues over the parade interfering with access to the hospital and alternate traffic routes. "The concern of the hospital is very important and has to be dealt with, but I don't think Kerr Street should be penalized for it," said former Kerr area town councillor Kathy Graham. The former councillor was among a throng of people who took their complaint to Town Council Monday wearing red badges that read, "Keep Santa on Kerr." For nearly three hours council entertained delegations and discussion about why the Santa parade was being taken off Kerr and what could be done to keep it on the main street of a village that is undergoing a revitalization.
