The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday May 31, 2006 - 11 Conservation Halton opens parks for free on Saturday As part of it's 50th Anniversary, Conservation Halton is offering free admissions to its six parks on Saturday. The parks will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. · Crawford Lake, off Guelph Line on Steeles Ave. features an ecologically rare lake, a 16th century reconstructed Iroquoian village and walking trails. Visitors can participate in guided tours, longhouse lore and crafts. · Kelso offers great mountain bike trails and a lake where you can swim, boat and fish. There will also be a free concert featuring the Funky Mamas, a great children's music group, who will be performing in the afternoon from 1 ­ 3pm.
