Badrov scored the decisive goal in Trinity's 2-1 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. eing down 1-0 at halftime didn't deter the Holy Trinity Titans as they rallied to beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2-1 in Friday's Halton AAAA senior boys' soccer final at Brant Hills. The Fighting Irish took an early 1-0 lead on a penalty shot goal by Dan Ramos, but was unable to hold off the Titans in the second half. "I'm disappointed that we didn't take the game to them more than we did," Notre Dame coach Paul McDermott said. "Even though we scored on the penalty, they crept back into it. They didn't give up, which is all credit to Trinity." Trinity's win earned the team a spot in yesterday's Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference final against Hamilton's Cardinal Newman. The result of that game, which determined the Halton AAAA Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations representative, was unavailable at press time. Friday, the Titans scored on a scramble following a corner kick to tie the game, then kept up the pressure, scoring just minutes later on Mark Badrov's free kick that slipped past Notre Dame keeper Dave Scorniaenchi. "It was a free kick from pretty far out," Badrov said of the winning goal. "I thought I'd just shoot it on net. (It was) wet out so I thought I might as well shoot it on net and it went in." McDermott added, "(Scorniaenchi) got his body behind it See Wet page 29 CONFIRM YOUR SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION NOW!!
