"We're close," said Mayor Ann Mulvale yesterday. "We're making progress." Mulvale said a special Town of Oakville council meeting has been called for Wednesday, June 14 at 8 p.m. to update councillors on the status of the North Oakville Secondary Plan (NOSP). Negotiations have been heavy on a possible settlement that could stave off an estimated nine-month, $13 million OMB hearing set to begin this summer. A settlement would follow on the heels of a recentlyachieved piecemeal settlement of a similar challenge of Halton Region's updated Official Plan. The regional challenge involved approximately 40 lawyers representing various parties challenging the Region's plan.
