The Oakville Public Library is gearing up for the reopening of the Glen Abbey library branch. On Saturday, June 17, Mayor Ann Mulvale will be on hand for a ribbon cutting. There will be a scavenger hunt and balloons for kids. Join us for free hot dogs and pop at Noon, and children's entertainer Craig Douglas will perform at 1 p.m. The event takes place from 10 a.m. (when the library opens) until 2 p.m. Professional comedian and juggler, Craig Douglas will quickly have you roaring with laughter. Douglas is one of the Oakville Public Library's favourite performers and even if you've seen his show once or several times, his energy and audience interaction always makes for an enjoyable experience. Douglas grew up in London, Ontario. He put himself through seven years of university as a performer and he has won many accolades and awards during his career. Douglas has appeared nationally on CBC television and The Comedy Network. He's a past winner of the Labatt's Crystal KEVIN HILL / SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER GOOD PLACE TO READ: Eleven-year-old Katie Yamamo curls up to read a book in a comfortable chair at the Glen Abbey Library branch during a reception for all donors and supporters of the just completed expansion of the branch. Comedy Quest and at out of 47 international performers at the Kingston Busker Festival he was chosen "Best Novelty Act". Douglas has also performed and taught for two seasons at The American School in Switzerland. Opening acts to his credit include those for Jann Arden, The Nylons, Colin James and Charley the Karate Chimp (honestly!).
