It is important to get the registrations in soon, as an individual schedule is created for each camper and options cannot be guaranteed if the registrations are late. This is a day camp, offering lots of music plus art, drama, music theory, and fun things like ukulele and music listening bingo. Individual lessons are available, along with group lessons, singing, and junior and senior orchestra. Private lessons are available for violin, viola, piano, cello, flute, guitar, recorder and voice. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experienced musicians. Students experienced in brass and woodwind instruments can participate in our new venture - a band and full orchestra program during the second week, led by an outstanding conductor, Mr. Colin Clarke, who is also going to run a senior percussion class. Renowned New York string conductor and violinist, Mr. T.J. McAvaney, will return to camp the first week to lead the Junior and Senior string orchestras and teach individual lessons. Programs are available for ages 4 to 18 and even adults. Please check the website www.oakvillesuzuki.org for program descriptions, staff lists, and registration forms. High School band students and former camp students will be eligible for earning community service hours by helping out in the mornings and cleaning up. This year there has been a little confusion around camp location, since it was changed after the brochures were printed. John Knox Christian School, just off Ford Drive in east Oakville, generously decided to delay their construction to accommodate the camp again this summer. This promises to be a fun camp with lots of music and smiling faces! S CH O O Learn to SWIM!
