www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday June 23, 2006 - 39 Local wins Golf Town flight Local resident Al Duncan won the `B' flight at the Golf Town Tour's first major of the season, contested last weekend in Collingwood. Duncan carded a 78, seven strokes better than second-place finisher John Goodall of Mississauga. The flight win was Duncan's third of the Golf Town Tour season and moved him past Richmond Hill's Boris Fong into first place in the Order of Merit standings. "In all three wins, I've kept the ball in play and stayed out of trouble," said Duncan. Duncan's highlight of the round was sinking a 50-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th hole. Other locals competing at the Golf Town stop, held at the Georgian Bay Club, included Ken Olsen (11th, championship flight), Robert Fisher and Jim West (tied for fourth in `A' flight). The Golf Town Tour will continue Tuesday, July 4, with its seventh event -- the G&G Shootout -- at Osprey Valley Golf Club in Alton.
