He will be remembered for his kindness, support and generosity and will live in our hearts forever. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Society would be appreciated by the family. RAMSAY, Lucy Helen (nee Withnell)Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on Friday, June 23, 2006, in her 69th year. Lucy was the beloved wife of the late Stan Ramsay (1994). Treasured mother of Helen (Peter) Purdy of Cambridge and Heather (Clayton) Jessome of Grimsby. Nana is lovingly remembered by 4 grandchildren, Colin, Jocelyn, Jessica and Matthew. Cherished by her siblings Tom, Norm (Margret), Albert, Jim (Betty), Marion (Ed) Austin, Charlie (Marilyn) and Sheila. Will be missed by her inlaws Gladys Ramsay, Shirley (Ray) Bissonette, Lyle (Darlene) Ramsay, Wayne (Janet) Ramsay, Barb (Eugene) Barnes. Also loved by her nieces, nephews and many great friends. Cremation has taken place. Glyn was born in Shropshire, England the first son of Harry France , the village Blacksmith and Beatrice Daisy France. At senior school, he excelled in Public Speaking, and had a keen interest in politics, history and religion. At 17, he was commissioned into the British Intelligence Corps where, after mastering Chinese and Cantonese, he prosecuted war crimes committed in Asia. After demobilization, he won a place in Jesus College, Oxford. He then spent the majority of his remaining life in Victoria, Australia, devoting his energies to teaching. He was an innovative educator and has been recognized as such in Australia's "Who's who". Refer: "National Library of Australia" He leaves a wife, Ailsa , two surviving daughters and 6 grandchildren plus a sister, Cherith and husband Ron Sheedy and brother, Nigel and family in Melbourne. In Ellesmere, Shropshire, he leaves a sister Jean and husband Chris James, in Ruyton-X1-Towns, a brother Terry and family and in Ranby, Nottinghamshire he leaves a brother Roy and family. In Oakville, Canada, he leaves a brother John and family. Glyn died suddenly in hospital of a heart attack following successful surgery.
