What better time to take in floral delights as the Oakville Horticultural Society presents its annual Secret Gardens of Oakville garden tour on Sunday, July 2. The Secret Gardens of Oakville self-guided tour showcases some of the finest examples of garden design to be found anywhere. Participants can see gardens that have evolved over many years as labours of love by the owners while other gardens have been professionally designed. With eight private gardens and, for the first time, the extensive grounds of one of Oakville's oldest schools, this year's tour will feature design inspiration for the gardener in you. Garden owners have made an effort to label unique specimen plants or unusual varieties of plant material to aid visitors who wish to take notes or to expand their knowledge of gardening. A Master Gardener will be available in one of the gardens to answer specific gardening questions. Members of the Oakville Horticultural Society will welcome visitors at all gardens.
