Proud grandfather of twelve (Laine, Paige, Andrew, Rebecca, Alec, Joshua, Hailey, Benjamin, Katherine, Caroline, Olivia and Robert). Died peacefully on June 23, 2006 from complications of a prolonged battle with cancer. A lifelong mentor and teacher, after a 28-Year Sales and Marketing career with Shell Canada, John formally pursued his teaching vocation. Beloved and respected Professor of Business and Marketing with Humber College, Community College of Trinidad and Tobago, Athabasca University, University of Karlruhe, Germany, Canada China Management Training Center, Chengdu, China. John was initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Michigan State University. He established University exchange programs between Canadian and overseas Universities. He was recognized by Humber College as Innovator of the Year Award recipient. The college later established the John L. Murray Award which provides an annual scholarship to recognize excellence by a post-graduate marketing student. John was also an entreprenuer and home developer, managing two different townhouse construction projects in Oakville. He was active in political and civic service organizations, including Rotary and Probis. John's wide circle of family and friends remember him as an optimistic, fun-loving, actor, singer, skier and family man. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday June 27, 2006 at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville, followed by a reception at The Oakville Club, 56 Water Street. The family is grateful to the wonderful people at CCAC and excellent, caring staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House. Deaths RAMSAY, Lucy Helen (nee Withnell)Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on Friday, June 23, 2006, in her 69th year. Lucy was the beloved wife of the late Stan Ramsay (1994). Treasured mother of Helen (Peter) Purdy of Cambridge and Heather (Clayton) Jessome of Grimsby. Nana is lovingly remembered by 4 grandchildren, Colin, Jocelyn, Jessica and Matthew. Cherished by her siblings Tom, Norm (Margret), Albert, Jim (Betty), Marion (Ed) Austin, Charlie (Marilyn) and Sheila.
