Summer Fun Bus Day for Kids on Thursday is designed to help people learn about public transit in Oakville and it's free. From 9 a.m.-12 p.m.a special Oakville Transit shuttle bus will be waiting at the Oakville GO Station to take children and their caregivers for a short bus ride. Bus schedules and maps will be available. On top of learning about Oakville Transit, there will be activities for children. The Oakville Public Library is doing songs and stories at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m. Gus from the Bus will visit, and there will be games, crafts and a colouring contest. This is the second year for Summer Fun Bus Day for Kids in Oakville. Courtesy of the Town of Oakville, all Oakville Transit buses are free all summer for children 14 and under. Summer Fun Bus Day for Kids is a way for families to learn about the bus system at the start of the summer. For those who aren't comfortable taking a bus to the event, parking will be available at Oakville Place. The special event bus will take families back and forth from Oakville Place to the Oakville GO station for free. The bus loop at Oakville Place is on Leighland Avenue, near The Bay. Parking at the Oakville GO station may not be available. It's easy to take a regular bus to the event, since most buses go to the Oakville GO station.
