REPSOCCER Oakville fell in the final, 5-3 to Thorold, a game played shortly after the Strikers upset the top-seeded Grimsby Panthers in the semifinal. Brandon Clark provided the heroics in the semifinal win, scoring with two minutes left in the second overtime period to give the Strikers a 2-1 win. Earlier in the tournament, Oakville defeated Concord 2-1 and Roma 3-2, and lost 3-2 to Thorold. Clark and Steven Jean combined to score nine goals during the competition, sharing most-valuable-offensiveplayer honours. Keeper Jake Babic and defensive back Jacob Smith earned most-valuable-defensive-player kudos.
