The filming will take place at concerts at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts located at 130 Navy St. To order tickets, e-mail audience@doodleworks.ca. The ticket desk will be open one hour before each taping. The Doodlebops are international children's entertainment phenoms, as seen on television on Kids CBC across Canada and on VRAK TV in Quebec, the Disney Channel in Latin America and Playhouse Disney in the U.S., the U.K. and Italy. Universal Music Canada Platinum recording artists, the Doodlebops DVDs and CDs were released in the U.S. on Walt Disney Records (Rock and Bop with the Doodlebops) on Tuesday and Lionsgate Entertainment. The group begins a 35week American concert tour, including headlining at Walt Disney World Aug. 20-23. Volition Air plays here Saturday Volition Aire wraps up its Southern Ontario tour at Oakville's, Philthy McNasty's, this Saturday (Aug. 5). Though based in Guelph, two founding band members met at T. A. Blakelock High School in Oakville. Drummer Dave Toms says, "We love performing in Oakville. The hometown crowd really gets us pumped!" "The tour has been quite the ride," says lead singer and guitarist, Charlie Jacklin. "And we're looking forward to playing in Oakville again. At summer's end, we're back in the studio to record several new songs." With the release of its debut CD, Presented In Widescreen, Volition Aire has been rocking the `Indie' scene at universities and colleges, Toronto clubs, and more locally the recent Oakville Waterfront Festival and Kerr Street's Canada Day celebration. Along with lead guitarist Kyle Smith and bassist Mike McLeod, the band's rock sound is enhanced by catchy melodies, thunderous beats and majestic guitar solos. Oakville seniors in TO Jubilee Oakville performers are featured on the bill of the 18th annual RBC Seniors' Jubilee Aug. 1418 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. Organist and music director of the Walton United Church, Linda Fletcher teaches piano and singing and is a published composer of many vocal and choral works. She's also a soloist with Voices in the Night, Te Deum Singers and the Oakville Choral Society. This year's RBC Seniors' Jubilee will honour Fletcher with the Pauline McGibbon Life Achievement in the Arts Award. Also on the bill are the Oakville Happy Tappers, who have been performing for 16 years. The group has been the leader in the variety show, Spectacular, presented by Oakville's seniors centres for the past seven years -- at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts as a highlight of the Christmas season. More than 1,000 performers, including singers, dancers, musicians, bands, comedians and magicians will also be featured at the 18th annual RBC Seniors' Jubilee, which demonstrates how today's seniors are celebrating their vitality while exploring their creative sides.
