DD Dionisio, 16, and Rachel Vukson, 15, surprised even themselves with their success, considering they had been unable to train much before the event. Dionisio was busy with her other passion, equestrian riding, while Vukson's time was consumed by her involvement with the under-18 provincial volleyball team. The duo was seeded 16th in the tournament, but finished behind only the top two Canadian teams that will compete at the beach volleyball world championships next month in Bermuda. Facing the top Canadian squad in the semifinal, Dionisio and Vukson fell by scores of 16-21, 16-21. The girls are now training for the beach national championships, scheduled for Aug. 25-26 in Toronto. IS THE game PLAYING We can help... you?
