For those who are more energetic in the evening hours there's Adventure Kids at 7 p.m. on Mondays and for the morning crowd there's Mini-Naturalist at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. There is no pre-registration and no activity fee. Just pay for park entry and arrive at the program location at the specified time. Adventure Kids on Mondays at 7 p.m. is at the Campground Amphitheatre. There is a different topic each week. This program allows children of all ages to discover the wonders of snakes, turtles, frogs and salamanders through nature based games and activities. Kids will use nets and observation trays to get a closer look at life in a pond. Adventure Kids also experience what it might have been like to be a kid in 1899. What was it like before electricity? They play traditional parlor games such as operator, oh great king and queen or barnyard charades. There's even oldfashion outdoor races. "The great thing about this program is that the kids are having so much fun that they don't even realize that they are learning!" say Amy Stark, one the program leaders. Mini-Naturalists on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. is at the Nature Centre. Through hands-on activities children will explore the natural environment of Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Children are encouraged to touch, look and talk about the natural world around them and all the curious things about nature. The topics include trees and forests, clouds and weather, and mother nature the first recycler. "If your kids like to explore and figure out `why?' -- then they will love this program." says program leader Shannon Clarke. "Kids are full of questions and this program helps them to find the answers." Daily vehicle permits are $11.89/ vehicle. There are reduced rates for Ontario Seniors and disabled permit holders. No additional fee to participate in park programs. Programs are available to all park visitors and campers.
