It will be an action-packed day with 60 teams, local and from out-oftown, competing in races from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Along with the spirited competitions, the festival will be one big party, offering lots of choices to have fun outdoors --- a wide selection of food and beverages, a beer tent for thirsty paddlers and their supporters, prizes, and musical entertainment. Dragon boating is an exhilarating sport which many corporations, organizations, and clubs enjoy to promote team-building and camaraderie. For friends and families, it's a thrilling group activity to get involved in, just for the sheer fun of it. Funds raised through this Dragon Boat Festival will primarily benefit the Children's Aid Society of Halton and sustain the many causes that the Rotary Club of Oakville-Trafalgar supports such as Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Halton Women's Place, the Golden Horseshoe Disabled Athletes, and many others. A full list is available at http://www.rcot.ca/ The Gold Sponsor for the festival is Whole Foods Market in Oakville. Honorary Patron for this festival is Olympic gold medalist Larry Cain, who is generously lending his time and talents to ensure the success of this festival.
