Mom's favorite quote: "If you love reading you'll never be lonely". There wasn't an area of human endeavour that didn't interest her, from purely intellectual issues to business matters. She was a good talker but an even better listener! Ann was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Henry Kelneck - Mr. Music. Being married to Henry meant music was a constant joy in her life, something she shared with her family. Of Finnish ancestry, Ann (Enni) had the ability to think in two languages and ensured that her family learned another language too. She was always kind to everyone, no matter what their age or position in life. She had an overwhelming spirit of generosity which included a total giving of the most valuable commodity a person has - her time - which was happily spent to create treasured memories for everyone! She also loved cats and dogs, good grammar and manners, books and learning, cooking and entertaining, knitting afghans as gifts, and playing and teaching bridge. Mom always doted on her family. Her life is remembered with much love and humour by her children and their families: son Dwight "Ike" and Alice Kelneck, Casey and Grady of Baysville; son Craig Kelneck of Oakville; and daughter Karen and Rick Day, Peter, Paula, Robert and Tianna of Milton. "Annie" will be greatly missed by her two close friends Marg and Bert Day and their children and grandchildren: Stephanie and Bill Day, Amber and Lacey; Peggy and Mike Haliburton, Jennifer, Beth and Christopher; her extended family Yvette and Glen McNeil, Jonathon and Christopher of Barbers Bay; as well as all her friends in Timmins, Oakville, Florida and elsewhere. Throughout her life, Ann endured any hardship without complaint because she didn't want to be a burden to others, a stoical aspect of the Finnish virtue called "Sisu". Our family thanks the wonderful staff at Northridge for their loving care of Annie during her last year. What a true lady mom was! Her spirit lives on in everyone she touched. In Ann's memory the family respectfully suggests donations to the Ann and Henry Kelneck Scholarship Fund of the Porcupine Music Festival, P.O. Box 662, Timmins, Ontario, P4N 7J2. A celebration of Grannie Annie's life will take place on Thursday August 24th from 4pm to 7pm at Glen Oaks Reception Centre - 3164 Ninth Line at Dundas Street (Highway 5), Oakville (Highway 403 to Dundas Street exit or QEW to Ford Drive exit).
