The OTMH Candlelight Ball -- the premiere fundraising event for Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, -- is on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Burlington Convention Centre. Proceeds will be used to purchase equipment for the expanding Intensive Care Unit (ICU). More than 500 guests will wine and dine to the music of the Anita Rossi Band. Master of ceremonies and auctioneer Don Stewart, Senior Development Officer at Appleby College, will lead the way through the live auction. One of the highlights this year will be the drawing of the winning ticket of the raffle prize -- an all-inclusive vacation for two including flight to the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum in the Maya Riviera donated by McTavish Travel and Air Canada Vacations. While entry in the raffle is guaranteed for each guest at the OTMH Candlelight Ball, individual raffle tickets are also available from the Oakville Hospital Foundation for $25 per ticket. With 1,200 to 1,400 visits per year, OTMH has a very busy ICU which is in need of expansion to meet the demands of the community. Life saving decisions are made hundreds of times a day, in the blink of an eye. Equipment for this area is needed to expand the unit from 12 beds to 18 permanent beds.
