Future growth will be intense By Angela Blackburn OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF In the future, four out of every 10 housing units built in Oakville will occur within its existing urban boundaries. That ratio will allow Oakville to absorb its share of the anticipated population growth in the Greater Toronto Area, while curbing urban sprawl into its open green space. How Oakville will deal with its future growth was the topic of discussion for numerous items at Monday's Planning and Development Council. Over the next 25 years, the GTA will house nearly four million more people and some 1.8 million jobs.
