www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday September 15, 2006 - 19 Extending a helping hand in time of need P roviding families with that `extra special chance' to succeed in today's demanding, hectic world is what the YMCA of Oakville is all about. Every now and then, families go through challenges. After 50 years of service to the Oakville community we realize that when challenges arise, we must be there to meet them. Read about how one particular family recently made use of the Y's `Give Kids the Chance' fee assistance program: "The YMCA of Oakville assistance program was a Godsend. We never imagined needing it. It eased the financial burden our family experienced while we dealt with a job lay-off and continuing education. I am so pleased with the YMCA Junior Day Care. We are lucky to have found a convenient place that meets all of our needs. The quality of care and education that our child is receiving is priceless." No one is denied access to the YMCA of Oakville because of an inability to pay. We are unique: The YMCA is a charity that offers fee subsidies to those in need, ensuring that our programs and services are open to all. From Friday night youth nights that keep our kids off the streets, to quality child care for struggling single parents, the YMCA of Oakville is an organization that helps to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Every one of us faces challenges every day. Sometimes a helping hand can make all the difference.
