16 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday September 20, 2006 www.oakvillebeaver.com Township history comes to life in Trafalgar 200 STEPPING BACK IN TIME: History came to life during Saturday's Trafalgar 200 Family Heritage Day to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the former Trafalgar Township at Palermo. The festivities included, clockwise from top left, local historical playwright and actor Michael Brown depicting Dr. Anson Buck, a prominent Trafalgar Township citizen, blacksmith Larry Maugham provided blacksmithing demonstrations, Marek Semeniuk and his four-year-old daughter Hannah Semeniuk check out the cows on display, and Theresa Tabry shows her five-year-old daughter Arianna Tabry-Dorzek an old pioneer toy, the Horseshoe Puzzle.. Trafalgar 200 depicted pioneer life to acknowledge north Oakville's agricultural roots. Most of the activities took place at Palermo's oneroom schoolhouse. It was hosted by the Trafalgar Township Historical Society.
