Fourteen Oakville residents are on OHL rosters this year, according to the league's website, including a number of prominent names. Tavares, who turns 16 today, recorded 45 goals and added 32 assists in his 65-game freshman campaign. Goaltender Trevor Cann is preparing for his second season with the Peterborough Petes, coming off a summer in which he helped the Canadian under-18 team win the Junior World Cup. Cann, 17, went 16-2 with a 2.65 goals-against average last year. Twin brothers Justin and Tyler Donati are entering their fourth seasons of OHL hockey, but this will be their first year playing on different teams. Tyler (36 goals, 36 assists last year) was dealt to the Belleville Bulls during the summer, while Justin (46 goals, 63 assists) remains with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. Steve Mason intends to be the London Knights' number one goaltender this year after playing in the OHL championship series last season. Mason, who recently attended the Columbus Blue Jackets' training camp, had a 5-3 record and 2.66 goals-against average in limited action last year. Colorado Avalanche prospect Victor Oreskovich is back with the Kitchener Rangers after joining the team near Christmas last year. Oreskovich left the University of Notre Dame to join Kitchener, where he contributed six goals and 10 assists in 19 games. Ryan McInerney hopes to continue taking advantage of the increased ice time he has received with the Sarnia Sting. The 18-year-old requested a trade from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds last fall and was dealt to the Sting, with whom he scored 14 times and added 23 helpers in 51 games. Stefan Legein returns to the Mississauga IceDogs for a third season. He had seven goals and nine assists in 59 games for the IceDogs last year. Defenceman Zack Shepley is with the Plymouth Whalers for his fourth campaign.
