According to police, 30year-old Benjamin Wood was taken into custody for property-related offences, but he escaped around 11:30 p.m. while receiving medical attention and x-rays for ailments not related to his arrest at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. One officer, who suffered minor injuries, was treated and released from hospital a short time later. Wood was last seen wearing beige cargo pants, no shirt and brown Perry Ellis shoes. He was also wearing a handcuff on his left hand. Police describe Wood as white, around 200 pounds, five-feet 10-inches tall with blue eyes and short (shaved) brown hair.
