Ontario is investing in programs to keep us globally competitive. 21st annual Tay-Sachs Run/Walk Monday The Canadian Association for TaySachs and Allied Diseases (CATSAD) Inc. is having its 21st annual 5K Run/Walk for the Kids on Monday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. Presented by the Sharkey's Group of Companies, the walk will begin at O'Finn's Irish Temper, at Church and Navy Streets. Funds will go to CATSAD. It's a national, non-profit, organization dedicated to the treatment of fatal, genetic, neurological diseases such as Tay-Sachs, Niemann-Pick, Canavan and some leukodystrophies. CATSAD does not receive any government funding, and relies totally on this event and donations for its revenue. Prizes of $200 will go to the first place male and female, $100 to the first place male and female master finishers. Numerous door prizes, refreshments, food, water and more will be available.
