The festival is looking for outgoing people who want to share their enthusiasm and unfailing community spirit. The festival requires enthusiastic volunteers to complement the committees that operate year-round to assist with the development and operations of the Waterfront Festival ­ voted one of the Top 50 Festivals in Ontario. There is immediate need for qualified, dedicated individuals to sit on both the Promotions Committee and the Community Groups Committee. The role of the Promotions Committee is to seek out and actively participate in promotional events to increase public awareness of the Festival. Experience in promotions, fundraising and/or event planning is required, as well as availability before & after office hours. This committee also seeks two people to head up the popular Grade Two program which involves a daily time commitment during the last two weeks of May. Experience in a teaching environment or dealing with children is an asset. If you enjoy performing in front of a crowd and love a parade, this is the committee for you. The role of the Community Groups Committee is to liaise with community groups who wish to fundraise by working at the Festival, and to schedule and oversee those tasks Festival weekend. Experience dealing with volunteers and/or not-for-profit groups as well as availability during regular business hours is a definite asset. All positions require the attendance at regular monthly meetings, hands-on involvement throughout the year and during festival weekend.
