Girls Under 7 Houseleague team - They did have a great season and played very well as a team. The Oakville Extreme team proved that they are one of top teams in Ontario as they win 5 for 5 against Ontario teams to be North Mississauga,Tournament Champions. The Oakville Buzz represented Ontario at the junior B national Championship in Windsor. They went undefeated through the tournament to capture the Club's first Founders Cup Kelly Green emerged victorious over Navy Blue to win the League Cup championship in the red division for Girls Under 12 on Saturday September 16th. It was a close game but a single goal by Kelly Green resulted in a 1-0 victory over Navy Blue who had previously won both the regular season league championship and the Juan Campos tournament. Congratulations Kelly Green! Undefeated 2005 - 2006 Minor Peewee "A" League Champions, and OMHA Semi Finalist. Minor Peewee "A" Team went undefeated 21- 0 -3 during the regular season. The team consisted of : Jordan Mosca, Michael Hucko, Jonathan Bertrand, Michael Swanson, Doug Bonar, Mathew Voyce, Scott Enman, Jarrod Anstey, Zack Mulvale, Cody Baugh, Minjae Cho, Alex Routhier, Dale Stevens, Tim Berberian, Mark Kraft, Sam Jakubauskas, and Kieran DeFilippis. Coaching consisting of: Kevin Anstey, Glenn Voyce, Mike Hucko, Ray Routhier and team manager Kathy Slinger The Girls U15 Oakville Rockets Rep soccer team travelled this past July to Minneapolis, Minnesota to participate in the prestigious USA Cup. They played well throughout, against teams from Minnesota and Washington State and were successful in reaching the semi-finals before losing to the eventual winner Oakville's U17 Girls Select team recently won the North of the age group. At the 2006 PROVINCIAL LONG COURSE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS, in Nepean in July, the OAKVILLE AQUATIC CLUB ruled the waves; becoming Ontario's BEST Performing Team of 2006. What an improvement from an 8th place finish at last year's S.C. Provincials. "The Oakville Little League "Minor A" Blue Jays emerged victorious after a tight pitching dual that resulted in a 3 - 2 win over the division winning Cardinals." Despite a single win all summer, the Pink Panthers (Ladies 35+) truly enjoyed the 2006 soccer season! Zack Chetrat ­ Canadian Champion in men's 15 year old 200m Butterfly. Both Chetrat and Cummings qualified for the Canadian Senior Nationals. Cam Cummings - Canadian Champion in men's 17-18 400m Individual Medley at the National Age Group Championships held in Calgary in July. The Mounties (a.k.a. the Rockets) Boys U11 team went into playoffs in 3rd place, challenged their opponents through two overtimes, and lost by one goal in shootouts. This tight-knit team soon put their disappointment behind them and celebrated a great season with a swim party. Proud coaches are Joe Tedesco and Paul Muelli." The Oakville Blast Select Girls U13 team capped off a successful season on September 26th in Burlington. The Peel Halton Select Soccer League cup final was played between Brampton United Dragons and the Oakville Blast. The game was scoreless until the 21st minute of the second half when Oakville established the games only marker. It was not easy defending the 1-0 lead, Oakville's defensive play was able to stave off relentless Brampton pursuits for an equalizer. Other honourable season achievements are: Placing first in the Oakville Allstar/Select tournament, Finalists in the Ancaster Heritage Days tournament and Semi-finalists in the North Mississauga Allstar Tournament. OnJuly 14-16, the Oakville Midget 2 Lacrosse team travelled to Huntsville to the Jack Bionda Shootout. The Championship medal was theirs after a long, hard fought weekend! These qualities continued over the summer bringing the team to the Provincial Silver Medal win in August.
