Oakville Regional Tournament: The Oakville Thunder U12 girls' select soccer team went undefeated at the Oakville Regional Tournament coming back from a 1 goal deficit in the final game to win 2-1. The National U16 Woman's Team travelled to Germany September 6-15 to play in a three game International series against the U16/U17 German National Squads. The teams split the games with a win, a tie and a loss. Burloak Canoe Club's Gold medal-winning Senior Mens War Canoe on the podium at the Canadian Canoe Championships in Regina in August.The crew was lead by captain Dean Oldershaw, who won his 74th Canadian championship race, a Canadian record and by Adam van Koeverden, 2004 Olympic gold medalist in 500m kayak singles. This is the third year in a row that the Oakville crew has reigned as Canadian Champions. The Green Waves from the U7 Girls Oakville Soccer Club are champions in every game they played this season. The St. Thomas Aquinas Senior Girls Soccer Team won gold at the AA OFSAA Tournament in Peterborough in June. The Sr. Raiders went undefeated throughout the tournament and captured the championship with 6-5 decision in penalty kicks. Oakville Girls Under 7 Blue Diamonds played a complete, fun and successful season, thanks to the extra effort put in by all the players and their moms and dads. This makes them champions!
