Waiting for a new school T.O. cop is facing child porn charges after investigation Follows alleged indecent exposure The Oakville resident and veteran Toronto Police officer arrested in April for allegedly exposing himself to children inside a local toy store is now facing additional charges of possessing child pornography. According to Halton Regional Police, officers were summoned this past April to the Toys `R' Us store at 290 North Service Rd. to investigate complaints of a man following children and exposing himself. When they arrived, the man was still inside the store. Robert Wright of Oakville was charged with indecent exposure and two counts of possession of stolen property. Since then, a lengthy investigation was conducted by the Halton Regional Police Forensic Computing Section. As a result, Wright, 40, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of accessing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. Wright was released and a first appearance court date of Nov. 14 has been set in relation to the latest charges. Toronto Police Service was aware of the investigation and has suspended the officer from duty. Halton Regional Police are asking anyone with information related to this matter to call at 905-825-4777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800222-TIPS (8477).
