Celebration and joy are tenets of the ATHENA Leadership Model, and this year our gala dinner will be a true evening of celebration as we honour all our nominees, and also recognize this special landmark in the history of ATHENA Oakville. ATHENA Oakville Chair Initially the ATHENA Oakville Diana Saulez Award was hosted by the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, and as we grew and gained momentum, we went on to become a separate organization. Today, in addition to the ATHENA Oakville Award, we also present a $1,000 scholarship to assist a mature student who exemplifies the leadership qualities associated with ATHENA and present tool kits to aspiring women carpenters who have chosen to pursue this new career. Our thanks to the Nomination and Selection Committees for their due diligence in securing nominations and selecting this year's recipient. It is never an easy task, given the high calibre of the nominees. The Event Committee is to be congratulated on organizing an outstanding gala event to be held on October 25 and at which singer and songwriter Susan Aglukark will be weaving her story into both words and music.
