"It really reduces the isolation a new mother feels," said Cabaday. "When I first moved to Oakville, I didn't know very many people, but when I learned of the programs that the Oakville Parent-Child Centre had for new mothers, I was ecstatic. It was such a relief to find people who understood where I was coming from, and who were willing to give me the help and understanding I needed as a new mother." A United Way of Oakville funded agency, the centre offers drop-in programs, parenting the OP-CC, saw a need in the community for mothers to network with each other and have more interesting ways to interact with their children.
