McKinnon has been appointed to the board of directors of the Hamilton Port Authority on Wednesday. The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, announced the appointment that will be in effect for three years. "I am pleased that Mr. McKinnon has agreed to serve on the board of the Hamilton Port Authority," said Cannon. "His extensive business experience will serve him well as he takes up his new duties." McKinnon worked at Papiers Stadacona, formerly Daishowa Forest Products, from 1963 until 2001. He started in various clerical positions, then held the post of manager of transportation from 1975 until 1981. He then took the position of manager of marketing administration and transportation until 1985, when he was appointed general manager of that portfolio. In 1991, McKinnon became vice president of marketing and distribution until 2001. He has served on the board of the Pulp and Paper Transportation League, from 1980 until 2001, and on the Société des Arrimeurs de Québec from 1996 until 2001.
