www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday November 17, 2006 - 27 Srigley's Fine Jewellery, the legacy of `Downtown Ralph' Come to Italy in The Heart of Oakville With the closing of Srigley's Fine Jewellery in Downtown Oakville, many of Ralph and Joyce Srigley's loyal customers over the past 26 years are coming in to the downtown store to say their final farewells and to get some very fine deals during the close out sale! From the very beginning the store was a family affair as employees and customers alike were quickly welcomed into the fold with personal attention and care. News of engagements, christenings, weddings, anniversaries and birthdays were always cause for celebration among all. Trust is number one among the Srigley clan. By helping customers understand more about jewellery Ralph believed that better informed decisions could be made. Greeting customers, new and familiar, with a warm smile and taking the time and effort to help the find the perfect gift was a daily endeavour for Joyce. What made Srigley's Fine Jewellery a special place in Oakville is what makes other local and family run businesses special: personal attention and trusting relationships. Ralph and Joyce Srigley were committed to supporting other local businesses in town and they encouraged their children and customers to do the same. Ralph's work on the Downtown BIA was part of that dedication. And in the end, customers were always rewarded for their loyalty in shopping locally at Srigley's because here, they were welcomed and treated like friends. While all of the Srigley children -- Liz, Ron and Susan -- have worked at the store over the years; Liz has been manager for the past six. She has continued to run the business with the same high ethical standard learned from her dad who has since passed away. The decision to close the business that has been such a large part of the family's lives for the past 26 years was a difficult one. To all of our loyal customers... thank you.
