Help Save Halton's Grand Old Oak Tree A rare, 250+ year old oak tree will be taken down unless a plan to widen Bronte Road (Hwy. 25) is redrawn. To bend the road around the majestic tree will cost $343,000, less than 1% of the $42 million price tag for the total project. Halton Region Council has agreed that if the added cost is raised by December 15th, the road plan will be revised. More than $200,000 has been raised in money and pledges. We invite concerned citizens, companies, schools and other organizations to join in raising the remainder. Great-great-great grandchildren will be grateful. Tax receipts will be issued for donations over $25. For donation information www.halton.ca/savethetree 905-825-6000 · 1-866-442-5866 The Oakville Beaver
