Care-A-Van price drops in new year Prices on tickets and passes for seniors and students who use the Town of Oakville's Care-A-Van service will drop. "We wanted our Care-A-Van tickets and passes to be the same price as our regular transit tickets and passes," said Barry Cole, Director of Oakville Transit Services. "Over 70 per cent of our Care-A-Van passengers are seniors, so while our adult Care-A-Van ticket price remains the same, seniors and students will see significant discounts," said Cole. Tickets go on sale Monday, Jan. 1, 2007. Passengers who buy monthly passes can purchase their January monthly pass starting the week of Dec. 18. Tickets will continue to be sold through the Care-A-Van dispatchers and will also be sold at all the ticket agent locations in the Town. Passengers who only travel a few times per week will realize greater savings by purchasing tickets. Passengers who travel a minimum of 10 times per week will realize savings and convenience by purchasing a monthly pass. Drivers will continue to accept the yellow Care-A-Van tickets until March 1, 2007. After that time, the yellow tickets will no longer be accepted. The same kind of transit ticket can be used for both general buses and Care-A-Van use. New ticket prices are 10 for $14 for seniors tickets (pink). A seniors' pass is $45 per month.
