Location of Lands Affected by Zoning Amendment (By-law 2006-206) - The Zoning By-law Amendment will affect the parking regulations for commercial uses within the Downtown Oakville and Kerr Street downtown areas. The proposed amendments specifically affect the lands zoned as C3R. The Zoning Amendment will have the following effects: 1. The current parking exemption for commercial uses in Downtown Oakville on C3R lands south of Randall Street will be maintained. 2. The commercial parking requirements in Downtown Oakville on C3R lands north of Randall Street will be reduced to a rate of 1 parking space per 32.6m2 commercial floor area. 3. The on-site commercial parking requirements on C3R lands along Kerr Street will be reduced to a rate of 1 parking space per 32.6m2 commercial floor area. 4. Parking exemptions for all restaurants on C3R lands along Kerr Street will be eliminated. The Purpose and Effect of the Zoning Amendment (By-Law 2006-206) - The purpose of the Zoning Amendment is to revise the commercial parking standards for C3R zones in the Downtown Oakville and Kerr Street downtown areas. The intent is to establish a more consistent approach to regulating on-site parking by introducing a generalized rate for all commercial uses and by introducing fairness within, and among the downtown areas.
