Halton Regional Police's fraud bureau is investigating credit cards stolen from customers that went to the MTO licencing office at 105 Cross Ave. in Oakville. A police investigation has shown four customers had their credit cards stolen. Police say a former female employee was involved with processing drivers licence and validation sticker renewals and processing transactions involving customer credit cards. Police allege the accused would retain the card and the client would exit the office not realizing it was not returned to them. They allege that three of the victims were senior citizens who live in Oakville. On Dec. 19, a man was arrested at the Oakville Place Mall after making purchases with two of the stolen credit cards. The suspect was found to be the subject of a Canada immigration deportation order. He is scheduled to appear next in Milton Court for a bail hearing on Jan. 19, 2007 at 491 Steeles Ave. On Jan. 9, a former MTO employee was arrested and charged. She will appear in Milton court to answer the charges on Feb. 6. Charged is Ainsley Down Taylor, 24, of no fixed address, with four counts of possession of stolen credit cards, three counts of using stolen credit cards, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of obstructing the justice. Also charged is Kelly Elizabeth Jesty, 23, of Hamilton, with one count of breach of trust and four counts of theft of credit cards. The Halton Regional Police Service is interested in hearing from members of the public should they have had their credit cards go missing after attending this MTO office in the last several months.
