THE Oakville Beaver would like to express sincere and heart-felt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. GREEN, Gordon Allan (Sr.)- November 21, 1928-February 7, 2007. Peacefully after a brief illness, Gordon passed away with his children by his side at his residence at Tansley Woods Long Term Care Facility in Burlington, Ontario. Gord lived his last few years with dementia with courage, dignity and a great sense of humour. It would not have been his chosen path in life but he remained polite, kind and was lucky to have made new friends with the residents and staff on the Brant home area. Gordon is predeceased by his parents William (Bill (1969) and Ethel (1983), his infant sister Ethel (1926), his older brother William Alexander (Al) (2003), and his wife of 52 years Joyce (2003). Gord is survived by his younger brother James (Jim), his son Gordon (Jr.) and wife Susan of Burlington and daughter Leslie and husband Shawn of Millgrove. He was the best Poppa and number one caregiver/fan to his beloved grandchildren Allison, Adam and Erin Green and Ben and Heather Gaffney. Gord was born in Mimico, Ontario. After High School he continued his education at the Western Technical School and furthered his education as a tool and die maker, draftsman and engineer. he worked at continental Can in the machine shop, the Canadian Arsenals as a draftsman and then at the Ford Motor Company in Oakville as a process engineer. After retiring from Ford he continued to work for a consulting company as he was always keeping busy. Many heartfelt thanks to Ken Buist for his weekly visits with Dad and his devotion as a friend. Visitation will beheld at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, 2241 New Street, Burlington on Friday, February 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, February 10th at 11am in the chapel.
