The Rotary Clubs of Oakville North and Oakville Trafalgar are presenting this Oakville Centre Big Ticket performance in support of Rotary's Water for Humanity project, a global initiative to bring fresh water to those in need around the world. Pitre, star of the musical Mamma Mia! has had a career rich with success and has received numerous awards including the Dora Mavor Moore Award in Toronto, the National Broadway Touring Award in New York, a special award from the San Francisco Theatre Critics Circle, a New York Theatre World Award and a Tony nomination for her role as Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Originally from Oakville, Mark Forward has headlined in comedy clubs across Canada. Forward won the 2005 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Stand-up Newcomer, and appeared at this year's Halifax Comedy Festival. Forward then went on to win the prestigious Homegrown Comic Competition at this year's Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. He is also recognized for his numerous commercial campaigns including the Molson Ex campaign "Had Ex Today?". For more than 25 years Sheridan's Music Theatre Performance Program has enjoyed the envious reputation of being the finest music theatre training program in Canada. The cast of Theatre Sheridan's current hit show West Side Story will also be on hand to showcase this classic musical based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Still tickets for Shaken Not Stirred fundraiser The Halton Women's Place Shaken not Stirred Gala on Saturday at the Burlington Convention Centre has only a limited number of tickets remaining. This annual fundraiser features both live and silent auctions, a martini bar sponsored by The Martini House, gaming tables, entertainment, dinner and dancing. Halton Women's Place is the only emergency shelter for women and their dependent children in Halton Region. Annually we service over 500 women and 700 children and receive more than 2000 crisis calls. Between the two shelters we provide 50 beds on a daily basis.
