Ten Appleby swimmers qualified for next week's provincial high school championships in Etobicoke, including Luka Pike, James Tanner, Stephanie Harrison, Brock Wootton, McKenzie McCarley, Jenna Bergman, Pierre Campbell, Matteo Maccario, Mike Lawton and Zachary Healy. Pike won two gold at the CISOAA meet, finishing first in 100-metre breaststroke and 100m IM. Tanner, Wootton and Campbell also won an event. Earning silver were Morgan Barnett, Wootton and Lawton, while Emily Suchanek, Bergman, McCarley and Barnett claimed bronze medals in individual action. Five Appleby relay teams added silver-medal showings. Members of those teams were Tricia Clarke, Emily Fleck, Kenny Benson, Geoff Harrison, Kyle McGill, Sarah Johnson, Bergman, Barnett, Wootton, Healy, McCarley, Campbell, Pike, Lawton, Maccario, Tanner and Suchanek. The Ontario government will be holding regional consultations on developing a 10-year strategic plan for the province's health care system. The plan will set out a vision, priorities and strategic directions for our health care system over the next 10 years.
