NO INJURIES: Oakville Firefighters battle a stubborn house fire yesterday at 2439 Dundas St.West that caused parts of Dundas to be closed until after press time. No one was home at the time or injured as a result of the fire. Firefighters responded to several 911 calls just after 11 a.m. Tuesday and are still investigating the cause of the fire. Oakville Fire Department media spokesperson Michael Harrison said it looked like the fire started in or near the garage and then spread to the other parts of the house. There are no estimates yet about the extent of damage to the home, but Harrison did say "it's a large loss." The fire trucks -- Burlington Fire also assisted at the scene -- and water on the road caused Dundas Street to be closed yesterday from just after 11 a.m. until after press time late yesterday afternoon. Clinton speaks at fundraiser for Transitions for Youth Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Hamilton's Copps Coliseum in April to help raise funds for a Halton agency for at-risk youths. The 42nd President of the United States will be speaking as part of a fundraiser for Halton's Transitions for Youth (TFY), a multi-service agency that meets the emotional needs of the region's vulnerable, at-risk children, youths and families. The agency last year provided service to more than 3,600 vulnerable at-risk children, youths, parents and adults in Halton and prevention services to more than 7,000 elementary school children. "We are thrilled to have former President Bill Clinton as our headlining speaker at our Champions of Youth event," said TFY executive director Ellis Katsof. "His commitment to supporting young people and his global leadership will be of great interest and inspiration to thousands of people throughout the Golden Horseshoe." Also attending the fundraising event is former Ontario Premier Bob Rae. The April 3 fundraiser is expected to bring 7,000 people to Hamilton to help raise money for youth.
