Longmore won the girls' 12-and-under 50-metre and 100m backstroke as well as the 50m and 100 breaststroke. Longmore was also fifth in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly and sixth in the 100m freestyle. Carly Ross also won four medals, taking gold in the 12and-under girls' 50m and 100m freestyle and silver in the 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly. Ross was fourth in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke. Brian Gilmour returned with a complete set of medals, earning a gold in the 15-and-over boys' 200m freestyle, silver in the 50m backstroke and a bronze in the 50m butterfly. Jason Bysice won two silver medals with second-place finishes in the 15-and-over boys' 100m and 200m freestyle. Bridget Scott also won three medals, taking the silver in the 15-and-over girls' 200m individual medley and the bronze in the 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle. She also placed fourth in the 100m freestyle and eighth in the 50m free. Jessica Fraser took the silver medal in the 12-andunder girls' 50m breaststroke and added a bronze in the 100m breaststroke. She was also eighth in the 100m freestyle. Marina MacDougall won a pair of bronze medals in the 15-and-over girls' 50m and 100m freestyle. She was also fourth in the 100m butterfly and sixth in the 50m butterfly. Also earning a pair of bronze medals was Melissa Fink in the 12-and-under girls' 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly. Hobson's double-gold performance highlighted an outstanding showing by the club, which earned eight medals in total. Hobson won the senior women's division, becoming the first female non-masters skater to earn a gold medal at provincials. She added a second gold in the senior women's relay. Zachary and Jeremy Lin also earned gold medals for Oakville. Zachary Lin swept his four races to take the gold in the midget boys' division. Jeremy Lin earned his gold in the junior men's relay and turned in secondplace finishes in both the 500-metre and 1,000m races to claim the bronze medal in the juvenile boys' division. Patrick Duffy took the silver medal in the junior boys' division after turning in a victory in the 777m and second in both the 1,000m and 1,500m. Joshua Sullivan also earned a silver medal, finishing second in the peewee boys' division, thanks in part to a victory in the 500m race. Erin Heidecker rounded out Oakville's medalists, winning a bronze medal in the peewee girls' division. The club sent 33 skaters to the provincial competition, all of which had to meet time qualification times. The Oakville contingent represented 16 per cent of the total competitors at provincials. Also qualifying for the provincials were Taylor Amos, Eli Chislett, Andrew Craig, Nicholas Ernest, David Kalman, Mitchell Kos, Conor McNamee, Connor McAnuff, Ryan Quesnelle, Sean Stewart, Blake Sullivan, Hazel Garde, Anaka Will-Dryden, Cassandra Boychuk, Samuel Chin-Cheong, Ben Heidecker, Michael Kalman, Will Malcolm, Sara McNamara, Katie Quesnelle, Graeme Stewart, Brett Sullivan and Amanda Tickner. The skaters turned in more than 50 personal bests at the event. The Oakville club also had four skaters -- Duffy, Zachary and Jeremy Lin and Ryan McAnuff -- selected to compete for Team Ontario for this year's North American championships in Midland, Michigan. Oakville coach Matthew O'Donnell was also named to the Ontario team.
