The Halton Trauma Centre treat- ed over 400 individuals and family groups last year alone -- and demand for the centre's services has created a current waiting list of four months. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's organization that works to support church, community, family and youth activities. It is the largest community service club in Oakville and raises approximately $75,000 annually to support local and national charities -- including the Arthritis Society, Medical Ministries Canada, Canadian Food for Children, Ian Anderson House, The Salvation Army, Oakville Fareshare food bank, The Good Shepherd (Hamilton) and Kerr Street Ministries. Meanwhile, Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Oakville currently has 31 members who plan to raise approximately $65,000 this year.
