26 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday April 6, 2007 www.oakvillebeaver.com DOWNTOWN THIS WEEK Spring is the perfect time to discover all that Win henstock Gallery, has to offer On any given day, you may find Win Henstock about town, capturing the light and shadows; painting vignettes of Oakville. Win is a renowned artist in her own right, critically acclaimed for the `Plein Air' style, otherwise known as `art of painting directly from nature'. This `on scene' style has become Win's signature and whether she paints landscapes, seascapes or people in natural settings, it is her talent to capture the essence of the moment. Successful in both vocations, Win Henstock is a woman of talent and passion, who founded her first gallery in Laguna Beach, California in 1994. Over the years, Win has studied with some of the most prestigious artists in California, as well as the great John Yardley with whom she studies alongside every summer when she returns to her place of birth, Britain. Win's return to Oakville is indeed our good fortune as it was not long thereafter Win Henstock Gallery came into being. It is a state-of-the-art gallery exhibiting established, collectible artists such as Helen Lucas, Joanne Clarke, Gisele Comois, Bruce Yardley, Art Cunanan, Tom Miller, Jacek Rudnicki and John Joy. Win is proud to exhibit the exclusive works of Andrea Padovani and amazing British sculptor, David Begbie. Come celebrate "Spring Thaw"at Win Henstock Gallery, Friday ,April 13th from 6-10pm which is the first exhibition and reception of the season; featuring artists Gisele Comtois, Andrea Padovani and Win Henstock. Spring is a `strolling to a gallery time of year'. You may find Win, in the Gallery or on Wednesday afternoons, teaching art workshops in the Upper Gallery. Keep an open eye for Win `round town'. She'll be the lady with brush in hand...sporting a glorious smile, a large brimmed hat and a sense of serenity; painting a daffodil in bloom.
