"It's not about how long you live, it's about how you live your life," by Meghan "Together in Life, Together in Eternity" FARROW, Jill (nee Weatherstone)- It is with deep appreciation for having shared Jill's life and profound sadness that we announce that her marvelous journey on earth has come to an end on April 16th, 2007 at 72 years. Jill has been the loving and gracious life mate of Dr. Grant Angus Farrow: they met at age 12, married in their 20's, and recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Their life together started in Oakville, their studies took them to the University of Toronto, the United Kingdom and France before they put down vibrant and happy roots in Toronto and her beloved Stony Lake. Jill is the dear, wise and inspirational mother of Susan (Blake Hutcheson) and Trevor (Mary Birdsell), and the loving and engaged Nana to Camille, Trevor, Morley and Joseph. She was the daughter of the late Alan and Winnie Weatherstone (nee Kermeth), and sister to Julie Barker and Jennifer Neal. Jill leaves behind friends and admirers from all aspects of her life including: the Oakville community where she grew up; the University of Toronto where she earned a BSc in nutritional science; the Toronto General Hospital where she spent 30 years of her professional life including being staff dietician, and president of the Auxiliary; the Garden Club of Toronto where she worked passionately as co-chair of the Casa Loma garden restoration team, and as chair of the educational program and volunteer program for Canada Blooms; the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton where she was chair of the Horticultural Committee; St. Andrew's Church and St. Peter's-on-theRock Church where she was the second woman warden after her mother; national and international urological medical associations where her contributions were innumerable and much valued; and her bridge friends who provided so much fun and laughter. Jill was a lovely and gentle soul who made those around her feel special - perhaps invincible. We always believed she was both. Unfortunately, cancer took her from earth, but never from us. Her spirit, infectious laughter, strength of character and all encompassing love are with her friends and family always. Our family is so grateful to the many caring professionals - several of them old friends - who provided compassionate care and spiritual support during the past 2 years. This journey, filled with so many beautiful moments, would have been much more difficult without this care, and the love and support of so many friends and family. Mary Vogt you embody all of this for which we are eternally grateful. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, King Street West (at Simcoe), at 6 pm on Friday April 20th. In lieu of flowers, which Jill loved, may we respectfully suggest donations to Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation, R. Fraser Elliott Bldg, 5th Floor, 190 Elizabeth St. Toronto, ON, M5G 2C4, Telephone: 416-340-3935, www.tgwhf-uhn.ca.
